Key Digital’s HDBaseT Extenders Overcome Integration Pitfalls

Full-Buffer System Comes Standard with KD-X222, KD-X222PO, and KD-X422POA

MOUNT VERNON, NY – March 22, 2017 – The Leaders in Digital Video introduce KD-X222 and KD-X222PO HDBaseT extender sets and the KD-X422POA HDBaseT extender set with Audio De-embedding. These extension kits transmit UHD 4K/30 4:4:4 and UHD 4K/60 4:2:0 signals up to 125' using CAT5e/6 UTP/STP cabling. For non-4K applications 1080p/60 signals can be extended up to 230'.

Key Digital’s team of award winning engineers have developed HDR10 support with 4K/60 resolution on KD-X422POA. Data from Key Digital’s proprietary Full Buffer Technology enables HDR content to pass through the extension even while other HDBaseT products in the AV industry are not able to pass the 18G signals synonymous with the new HDMI 2.0A standard.

Audio de-embedding on KD-X422POA enables external connectivity with audio distribution systems and amplifiers. The HDMI input is de-embedded through Analog L/R Balanced/Unbalanced and Digital Coaxial Audio (PCM) audio outputs on the Tx unit.

“KD-X422POA exemplifies the built-in problem solving tools that Key Digital has brought to the market since becoming one of the early HDBaseT adapting members,” states Jonathon Ferry, Key Digital’s National Manager. “The need for de-embedded audio is exponentially increasing, adding value to KD-X422POA as connectivity options on more and more HDMI sources are victims of the race-to-zero in consumer electronics. Connectivity options couples with our Full Buffer Technology ensuring that this product will be the only HDBaseT extender set integrators need to have in their toolbox.”

KD-X222, KD-X222PO, and KD-X422POA are sold as a Tx + Rx set. All models feature EDID and Control professional tool suites. Integrators have the choice of EDID handshake delivered to the connected video source. Each Tx unit may extend RS-232 to the connected monitor/projector or be set as a controllable device for collecting connectivity status. For ease of installation KD-X222PO and KD-X422POA feature Power over HDBaseT extension from Tx to Rx.
